Measure Pants You Already Own

Lay your pants flat on a hard surface (like the floor or a table), and use a flexible measuring tape to take the following measurements. Most measurements are taken from side to side, then multiplied by 2 to calculate the full circumference.

Use the image below as a visual guide to each measurement.

1. Waist

Measure across the waistband from one side to the other.
➤ Multiply by 2 to get the full waist circumference. Refer to the red line in the image.

2. Hip

Measure straight across the pants at the widest point of the hips, usually just below the fly zipper.
➤ Multiply by 2 for the full hip circumference. Refer to the yellow line in the image.

3. Front Rise

Measure from the top of the front waistband down to the crotch seam.
➤This tells you how high the pants will sit on your body. Refer to the green line in the image.

4. Back Rise

Flip the pants over and measure from the top of the back waistband down to the crotch seam.
➤ Multiply by 2 if needed to get the full curve. Refer to the green line in the image.

5. Thigh

Measure across the leg about 1 inch below the crotch seam.
➤ Multiply by 2 for the full thigh circumference. Refer to the blue line in the image.

6. Leg Opening

Measure across the very bottom of the pant leg.
➤ Multiply by 2 to get the full circumference of the ankle opening. Refer to the pink line in the image.

Compare to Our Size Chart

Once you've measured your pants, head to the size chart on any of our product pages and compare your numbers.

Waist - Do the pants you own fit you perfect in the waist? pick the same waist size. If your pants feel an inch to big, go down an inch when ordering.

Hip - If the hip measurements on our size chart are larger than the hip measurements on your pants, you should expect a looser and baggier fit.

Thigh - If the thigh measurements on our size chart are larger than the thigh measurements on your pants, you should expect a looser and baggier fit.

Front/Back Rise - If the rise measurements on our size chart are larger than the rise measurements on your pants, you should expect a higher waist fit.

Leg Opening - This will tell you if the pants will have a tapered or a straight fit.
