A Question Worth Answering
We get asked about our manufacturing. It's a fair question, and we'd rather answer it directly than leave it to assumption.
Nabee pants are made to measure. Every pair is cut to your exact waist, inseam, rise, and leg shape. That means any waist from 24 to 60 inches, any inseam from 24 to 40 inches, in a straight or tapered cut, in a mid or high rise. The number of possible combinations runs into the thousands. That's not a standard production model. It requires a very specific kind of manufacturing infrastructure.
What We Found Locally
We looked. We spoke to manufacturers in Canada and the United States about what we were trying to build. The response was consistent: it's not scalable, it's not possible, the minimums don't work, the sizing variation is too complex.
North American garment manufacturing has largely been built around standardised sizing and volume runs. A factory optimised to produce 500 units of a size 32 waist is not set up to produce one unit each of 500 different waist and inseam combinations. The tooling, the workflow, the workforce training — none of it is oriented toward that kind of variation.
We weren't looking for a shortcut. We were looking for a partner who could actually do what we needed. We didn't find that locally.
What Our Manufacturing Partners Do
Our manufacturing partners have spent decades building the infrastructure for exactly this kind of work. Skilled pattern cutters who work from individual measurements rather than standard templates. Sewing teams trained for variety rather than repetition. Facilities that can move through a production batch of hundreds of unique garments without treating any of them as an afterthought.
This is also where the full production process happens: fabric cutting to your measurements, sewing, dyeing, washing, ironing, quality checking, and packing. Each step is done with care because the facility is built for it.
What This Means for Your Pants
Choosing our manufacturing partners wasn't a compromise. It was the only way to make what we make. A pair of Nabee pants cut to your exact dimensions, pre-washed, pre-shrunk, and finished before it ships, is only possible because we work with people who have the skill and the infrastructure to do it properly.
We're proud of that. And we think it's worth saying clearly.
