High Rise vs Mid Rise: Which Is Right for You?

Not sure whether to choose high rise or mid rise? Learn how each sits on the body, how to measure your current rise, and which style suits your look.

Understanding Rise

Rise is the distance from the crotch seam to the top of the waistband. It determines where your pants sit on your body and has a significant effect on both comfort and silhouette. Choosing the right rise is one of the most important decisions when ordering made-to-measure pants.

What Is High Rise?

High rise pants sit at or above the natural waist. They cover the midsection fully and create a long, elongated leg line. High rise styles tend to feel secure and supportive, making them a great choice for all-day wear.

High rise works especially well if you want a more structured, tailored look or if you prefer your waistband to stay in place without shifting throughout the day.

What Is Mid Rise?

Mid rise pants sit between the hip and the natural waist. They offer a relaxed fit that works across a wide range of body types and occasions.

Mid rise is a versatile choice if you want something that sits comfortably above the hips.

How to Choose

The best way to figure out which rise works for you is to measure a pair of pants you already own and love. Lay them flat and measure from the top of the waistband down to the crotch seam. That number is your current rise, and it gives you a reliable starting point when comparing to the Nabee size chart.

If you tend to wear your pants higher on your torso and prefer a tucked-in look, go with high rise. If you prefer a more relaxed waistline that sits lower, mid rise is likely your fit.
